Pregnant British actress Minnie Driver has enjoyed a traditional American baby shower.The movie star and singer invited about 40 guests to the party at a friend’s home in Malibu, California.

The house was decorated with pink and white peonies, sparking suggestions the baby may be a girl, although the mum-to-be has previously said she does not want to find out the sex of her firstborn.

The event was said to have been a casual affair, with guests sipping basil lemonade and eating finger sandwiches and cake, while Driver opened countless extravagant gifts.

Guests also hand-painted onesies for the baby and signed personal notes in a book to be given to the expectant mum. “It was a beautiful day,” one guest told a US magazine.

Driver, 38, has said little about the father, except that’s he’s English, “sort of in the same business,” and that they have no plans to marry.
